Turn Your Eyes to the Calvary Road When everything inside you longs for greatness, think of the Calvary road. Walk next to your savior as he sets out under the weight of the cross, bruised and beaten, heading to a hill on which he will die. Listen to the mocking crowds exclaim, “Crucify him,” (John 19:15) as he stumbles along the dusty road. Read the sign that states, “King of the Jews” (John 19:19). Yet notice there is no sign of royalty in this place. With tears in your eyes, you stare upon the bloodstained face of your Savior, and you drop to your knees in awe of him. Broken and worn, he keeps walking toward the hill, eyes fixed on his final, greatest act. Read More

Set Your Mind on a Course of Victory for Christ
A Small Victory Perhaps by now you’ve heard of my victory. My unbelievable victory! I ran up a hill. That’s right. All the way up a hill! Yes, God set my feet in motion that day and showed me I could do things that are hard. I was sweating and panting…and praising God that he never gives up on me. Indeed, when I set my sights on Jesus, he makes me want to start running and never back down. I may be in a heap when I cross the finish line. But I will know I have run the race with purpose. What to Lose: My List of Failures
A Series by Jill Holler – Part 2 Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light. Micah 7:8 The Dreaded Feeling of Failure Although I know God can redeem my life from any sin or mistake I have made, there is something about failure that makes me want to crawl into a hole and hide. I have a hard time getting past the self-inflicted shame I feel when I’ve messed up in a pretty big way. Perhaps it’s the uncomfortable feeling of humiliation or the countless eyes of scrutiny that I perceive to be upon me. Maybe it’s the quiet, underlying feeling that somehow in relation to others, Read More
I Am Life
Jesus is Life Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” John 14:6 Jesus Christ is life. He is our whole life and apart from Him we have nothing. He is the beating of our hearts, the breath in our lungs, and the blood pulsing through our veins. His name is a constant chorus in our hearts, stirring within us during the most ordinary moments of life and rising up like fire in our souls in our most exhilarating moments with Him. How we long to shout His name for the whole world to hear! He alone is worthy of the awe and praise of every single soul on this earth, for He holds the key to truth, life, and every Read More

This is where true freedom begins: realizing that this life is but a shadow of what is to come. Before I trusted in Christ, I saw the minutes, hours, and days of my life as the only time I had. That was it. Eternity did not register in my mind. And honestly, since this life was all I had, it was pretty depressing because I felt so inconsequential and ordinary. I felt somewhat random, like a dandelion seed blowing in the wind. Who knew where I would land? And if I did land, would I grow into something wonderful or not? I wondered what it would take to make my life great and full of purpose. I wondered what I could do to soar above Read More
