All for Christ

Interview with Author Norma Gail This week I had the privilege of being interviewed by fellow author Norma Gail. Her questions made me reflect upon my relationship with the Lord and look deeply into the issue of giving everything to Christ. I pray God will help me to live the life He has called me to, and I am praying the same for you. How blessed we are to have our Savior by our side, leading us each step of the way. Here are a few of the questions I addressed in the interview: What new lessons is the Lord teaching you right now? God is teaching me to keep my eyes on Him and nothing else. He is teaching me to let go of Read More

Writing

Becoming a Writer

Life in His Hands Author Interview with Martin Wiles I am excited to be joining Love Lines from God today, where author Martin Wiles interviews me about becoming a writer, the creative process of writing, and what it is like to be in the writing business. I hope you’ll join us too! Here’s a sneak peak… Tell us, Jill, when did you decide to become a writer, and what made you actually sit down and write something? Prayer for Children

A Prayer for My Children

Prayer for my Children I pray that my children will love God with their whole hearts and will want nothing more than to live unashamedly and joyfully for Him. I pray they will never grow lukewarm–but instead be filled with a fiery passion to follow their Savior, Jesus Christ, with every bit of strength they have. I pray that their hearts will leap with joy at the sound of His name and that He will be the greatest love of their lives. I plead for God to help my children turn away from the desires of this world and instead run straight toward the cross of Jesus where true life begins. I pray that they will never run from Him in order to follow the Read More

Life in His Hands: The Journey

My twin sister once told me that God called her to lead Bible studies so that she would actually show up. After I laughed about that for awhile, I added, “God wanted me to write a devotional book so that I would actually start living what I’ve learned!” To me, there is something about hard, cold print that makes me feel the need to be more accountable. I guess the same concept applies to leading Bible studies, only it’s the people, not the print, that makes you feel you had better come through. God knows my sister and me pretty well, and he knows we need a good nudge once in awhile. He also knows it has taken lots of persuading to convince me that Read More

The Doorway

When God closes a door, it can be quite painful. It’s kind of like getting your hand shut in a door, only the pain is figurative and it targets the heart. Yes, oftentimes I have prayed that God will open the doors he wants me to enter and close the ones he doesn’t. Yet, when the door comes closing shut, I find myself somewhat surprised…and a bit hurt. Perhaps I have convinced myself that it was the right door and that entering through it would be the best thing for me. Or maybe because of my pride and need to please others, I feel I would get a stamp of approval by walking through that door. Either Read More
